   Nobody can wrap the horrific demise of a Tracy villain together with an uplifting, emotionally-charged happy ending in a great big red bow like Chester Gould! Thanks for sharing this, Leroy. Talk about some work – five big tiers of it!

      Dick Tracy was such a fascinating and weird comic. I love the way Gould would come up with these insane characters and then draw them with his crazy style! These cartoonists were superstars back then, sort of like TV writers today. As far as the huge page goes, I’m sure he was happy he only had to do one page like this a week! The other days were single b&w strips. Also, he probably didn’t do the color himself either, like we do. Still, 6 strips a week PLUS a Sunday!? no wonder they were superstars! 🙂
